Miss Utah USA’s Journey to Miss USA 2013

We are so lucky to have worked with our client Miss Utah USA Marissa Powell on her journey to the Miss USA 2013 pageant! She was Third Runner Up at the competition and won Miss Photogenic USA. As the winner of the Miss Photogenic Award, Marissa was awarded a $1,000 cash prize.

We first met Marissa when she competed in her first pageant last year. Even though she was a pageant newbie, she took First Runner Up to Miss Utah USA 2012 Kendyl Bell in a stunning black Sherri Hill gown.

Last October, she competed in the state Miss Utah USA 2013 pageant and this time won in a white and gold grecian gown from Sherri Hill.

Marissa competed at the Miss USA 2013 pageant at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in fabulous Las Vegas and claimed her spot in the Top 5 {and Third Runner Up!} in a custom designed A. Renee gown by Sherri Hill.

Beautiful inside and out, Marissa has worked hard on her road to that famous Las Vegas stage. For the past five years, she’s volunteered at Primary Children’s Hospital as a member of the Kids Crew in the Forever Young Zone. She has also extended her passion for volunteering abroad. Her most recent service mission included a trip to Haiti where she served as an ambassador for the organization Healing Hands for Haitiwhere she visited orphanages that care for disabled children. An actress, singer and model, Marissa has been involved with print and film ads, runway shows and performed with her singing group Genevieve. She’s studied at BYU and Westminster where she played volleyball in 2010.

Miss CT USA, Erin Brady, Crowned Miss USA 2013!

We had SO MUCH FUN at the Miss USA pageant in Las Vegas. So many gorgeous pageant gowns, fashion shows and, of course, the main event Sunday night!

After an intense competition {and a surprise twist voting Miss TX USA into the Top 6}, Miss Connecticut USA, Erin Brady was crowned as Miss USA 2013!

Erin won in a gorgeous gold and white Sherri Hill evening gown. After her press interview, Erin celebrated her crowning moment at Las Vegas hotspot Minus5 Ice Bar.

Erin, a 25 year old accountant from South Glastonbury, CT and finance graduate of Central Connecticut State University, plans to earn an MBA in the future. She has worked closely with the Ferrari and Friends Concourso which works closely with the Make-a-Wish Foundation and the Children’s Medical Hospital. Because she was raised in a home with alcohol and substance abuse, Erin plans to be an advocate for children who come from backgrounds similar to her own.

As Miss USA, Erin is the winner of a one year scholarship to New York Film Academy, a year’s worth of hair products from Farouk Systems, an evening wear wardrobe by Ypsilon favorite Sherri Hill, a swimsuit wardrobe by ViX Paul Hermanny, a shoe wardrobe by Chinese Laundry, luxury accommodations in New York City and will represent the United States at the Miss Universe pageant this year in Russia!
